Commercial Metals Company Signs on with SteelFacts

Commercial Metals Company's Dallas Trading Division and Steel Group have entered into a subscription agreement with SteelFacts to access market data as of May 1, 2005. CMC has been monitoring the development of the SteelFacts service since early 2004. CMC plans to utilize SteelFacts to enable its steel traders to better understand the marketplace.
Albert Lee, General Manager - Steel Department, Dallas Trading Division, shares that "SteelFacts could be a valuable tool for our business." Jim Fritsch, Vice-President of Strategic Planning for CMC Steel Group adds SteelFacts is a "very nice system." SteelFacts is an online service that provides advanced analytical capabilities to assist in the task of analyzing steel market data. SteelFacts combines domestic shipment data licensed from the American Iron & Steel Institute (AISI) with import and export data from the US Department of Commerce to provide a complete picture of the domestic steel marketplace. SteelFacts contains a 10-year historical series of data with important information such as port of entry/departure, country of origin/destination, Harmonized Tariff Code, price, volume, grade, and domestic shipment volume. SteelFacts uses business intelligence tools from industry leader COGNOSTM to provide better visibility of steel market data for the best business decisions.
